Place Books in Homes

A book within reach. A world of possibilities.

Strengthening the foundations of learning.

Books give children language, stories, and imagination. This cause focuses on reading relationships, books in local languages, community participation, and sustained access—not simply the number of books distributed.

Make Reading Interactive

Use these four steps to turn shared reading into a conversation that keeps children curious and engaged.

  1. Step 1

    LOOK

Explore the cover and pictures together before reading.

  2. Step 2

    TALK

Talk about what you see and what is happening in the story.

  3. Step 3

    ASK

Ask open questions: What do you notice? What happens next?

  4. Step 4

    LISTEN

Listen to your child's answers and build on their ideas.

One Book. One Dollar. One Friend.

A book can open a world of possibilities. Through this simple act of generosity, children can help other children discover the joy of reading. Whether you donate a book, save pennies, or invite your school to participate, every contribution helps build a culture of kindness, learning, and friendship.

One child gives. Another child receives. Kindness connects them through reading.

A friend here means a child whose life is touched by another child's generosity. No contact details, private messages, or direct relationships are part of the program.

Four Simple Steps

  1. 01

    A Child Gives

A child in the U.S. donates a gently used children's book, contributes one dollar, or joins a group penny collection.

  2. 02

    The Community Collects

A participating school, family, service club, or community organization collects books and contributions.

  3. 03

    Children in the Philippines

The participating partners arrange for books to be received by the Filipino communities that need them.

  4. 04

    The Gift Is Celebrated

After the book is delivered, the giving child receives confirmation, and the receiving child prepares a thank-you card.

Safe, Simple, and Joyful

This program connects children through the generosity of giving and the joy of reading, without connecting them directly. Children in the United States give books or contribute toward providing books for children in the Philippines. Parents, teachers, and authorized community partners coordinate collection, distribution, and delivery confirmation. All messages, creative materials, and public stories are reviewed by adults, and consent is obtained before sharing. No personal contact details, private messages, or direct communication between children are permitted. We collect only necessary information, keep records private, and celebrate the kindness of children.
